Aurora LNG - Digby Island

Project Overview:

UPDATE – On September 14, 2017, Aurora LNG and its partners announced their strategic decision to cancel the proposed project, effective immediately, citing a macro-economic environment that no longer supports the LNG development at the Digby Island site.

Aurora LNG is a joint venture between Nexen Energy ULC (a CNOOC Limited company), INPEX CORPORATION and JGC Corporation. Aurora LNG is studying the viability of building and operating a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal on Digby Island, southwest of Prince Rupert. A second site at Grassy Point had initially been considered by the proponent but the Digby Island location was chosen based on a suitability assessment for the proposed project.
