A new Glycol Dehydrator Data Collection Template for data formatting has been released to support the requirements of the Drilling and Production Regulation (Section 52.08) and the Oil and Gas Activity Operations Manual (Appendix J) regarding emissions from glycol dehydrators.

DATE ISSUED: June 25, 2021

EFFECTIVE DATE: Jan. 1, 2022

The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) has released a new Glycol Dehydrator Data Collection Template for data formatting. The template is intended to support the requirements of the Drilling and Production Regulation (Section 52.08) and the Oil and Gas Activity Operations Manual (Appendix J) regarding emissions from glycol dehydrators. The Drilling and Production Regulation establishes new emissions requirements for glycol dehydrators installed on or after January 1, 2022 and, beginning on January 1, 2023, for glycol dehydrators installed before January 1, 2022.

The glycol dehydrator data collection template available on the Regulator’s website is not a bulk upload template. Instead, it is intended to be used as a tool to facilitate data collection for later upload into eSubmission and has been issued at this time to allow operators to effectively prepare in advance of the submission deadline.

  • Benzene reporting is outlined in guidance currently in effect.
  • Methane reporting is required by regulation starting in reporting year 2023.

Bulk upload templates in eSubmission will be available to support actual submissions closer to the submission deadline. Permit holders will be required to report on emissions starting on July 1, 2023.
