EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) has ended the water diversion suspensions for the Nicola and Coldwater Basins.

The Regulator issued Directive 2021-02 on Aug. 12, 2021 suspending all previously approved water diversions under section 10 of the Water Sustainability Act due to drought conditions for basins within the Nicola, Coldwater, and North and South Thompson watersheds. On Oct. 18, 2021, the Regulator issued an updated Directive lifting the water diversion suspensions for the North and South Thompson Basins.

The suspension is now ended for all areas following significant rainfall.
