The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) releases regular updates to the Application Management System (AMS) to improve workflow and functionality.

The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) releases regular updates to the Application Management System (AMS) to improve workflow and functionality. Changes for this release will be effective March 30, 2020 at 8 p.m. PDT and include:

Well Applications

  • The response regarding critical features within the EPZ, will default to ‘Yes’.
  • The formation names, including objective formations, will display with the formation code numbers and will sort in ascending numerical order.

Facility Applications and Historical Facility Submissions

  • The selection of equipment for a satellite battery will no longer be mandatory.
  • Wording changes under the Facility Storage section from ‘Produced Fluid Pits or Ponds’ to ‘Produced Fluid Containment Ponds’.
  • A Global Stability Analysis report or a rationale will be required if Produced Fluid Containment Ponds are required to support the facility application.

Historical Pipeline Submissions

  • Validations will be implemented between the maximum and minimum design pressure data fields.

Amendment Applications and Historical Submissions

  • A new “select all checkbox” will be added when selecting activities as land and/or technical for amendments.

Aggregate Operation Applications

  • Validations will be implemented between the proposed start and completion date fields.

Application tabs

  • Messaging under various tabs will be updated.

Maps and Plans tab

  • Validations will be implemented between the original plan and revised plan date fields.

Attachments tab

  • Category descriptions for all attachments will be displayed.

An AMS March 2020 Release Guide that further explains these changes will be available March 30, 2020 on the Regulator’s website. The Oil and Gas Activity Application Manual and the AMS System User Manual will also be updated in the near future to reflect the changes in this release.
