Trans Mountain Expansion Project
Please see the National Energy Board’s statement for the latest information on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.
The Trans Mountain Expansion Project is federally regulated by the National Energy Board. However, the Commission is responsible for a number of provincial applications, mostly for access to lands surrounding the pipeline.
The Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP) is a proposal to expand and twin the existing Trans Mountain oil pipeline system between Edmonton, AB and Burnaby, BC. It would include approximately 980 km of new pipeline, new and modified facilities, (such as pump stations, tanks, and tanker berths), and include the reactivation of 193 km of existing pipeline.
